Hill-Rom TotalCare Adjustable Electric Hospital Bed

The TotalCare® Bed System is appropriately named. The TotalCare is an adjustable electric hospital air bed that combines many innovative features to allow the caregiver unrestrained access to patients and their needs. In addition to its numerous features, the TotalCare specialty hospital bed system offers options that may be factory installed or added after purchase. As a piece of high-tech medical equipment, our beds are versatile, easy-to-use, and comfortable for patients.

FullChair® Patient Position Mechanism
With this adjustable hospital air bed, caregivers can easily and frequently position immobile patients per physician and nursing "up-in-chair" orders earlier throughout the patient's clinical pathway with the simple touch of a button.

30 Degree Head of Bed Alarm and Trending
Hill-Rom’s TotalCare® Bed System 30° HOB Angle Alarm is designed to alert caregivers when the head of the bed falls below a 30-degree angle. Some studies have indicated that maintaining the patient's head of bed at a greater than a 30-degree angle decreases the risk to the patient of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) or the aspiration of gastric contents. The Head Angle indicator can monitor how long (hours and minutes) the Head Angle is above 30º – for up to eight days – assisting hospitals to comply with VAP prevention protocols and guidelines.

FullChair® Egress Position Mechanism
This simple mechanism facilitates exiting the bed for ambulation, enabling patients to achieve functional mobility sooner in the care process with reduced risk of injury to themselves and caregivers. Based on the patient’s condition, the patient has the option of exiting by the side or end of the specialty hospital bed.

Shearless Pivot® Patient Positioning
By reducing the need for patient repositioning “up-in-chair.” This feature enhances caregiver safety and productivity, as well as patient comfort.

FlexAfoot™ Retractable Foot Mechanism
Caregivers can customize the overall length of the adjustable hospital air bed. The retracted footboard provides support to the patient’s feet, reducing the need for additional foot support devices. The overall surface can be retracted up to 12” (30.5 cm), which also aids the caregiver during transport in tight spaces. spaces.

Short Stay Surface
A foam surface that helps provide comfort and pressure reduction for your patients at low-risk for pressure ulcers. TotalCare® system with short stay surface is not upgradeable to any other air surfaces.

Treatment Surface
A full-body zoned pressure-relief air surface system designed to help minimize interface pressures to aid in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers related to immobility.

Integrated Scale
The integrated scale option allows for easy-to-use, repeatable weighing accuracy with 30-weight trending.

TotalCare SpO2RT® Pulmonary Therapy System
The pulmonary therapy system is an enhanced pressure relieving surface system offering a Turn Assist mechanism to aid in patient positioning along with accessory modules to deliver Continuous Lateral Rotation and Percussion/Vibration therapies to aid in the prevention and treatment of pulmonary complications related to immobility. Opti-Rest, a wave-like comfort modality, is standard with the TotalCare SpO2RT® system. This is available as a factory installed unit or as an upgrade to any TotalCare® system with treatment surface.

Transporting patients in an acute care environment is a challenging task. With the IntelliDrive® system, a touch of a button and minimal effort, one caregiver can effortlessly transport a patient with this hospital bed.

Mobility of the TotalCare® adjustable electric hospital bed system during transfer can be greatly increased with the addition of the optional IntelliDrive® system. This feature also helps minimize the need to transfer patients to stretchers for transport. When transport is required, simply unplug the bed, release the brake, grip the handles and go.

With little effort, one caregiver can move even a 450 lb. (204 kg) patient on a carpeted surface; perform 180° turns with ease; navigate through obstacles, and achieve 90° turns with this intensive care hospital bed.
