ActiveCare® DVT System While intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) is a widely recommended treatment for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention, poor compliance with some existing devices can prevent them from being as effective as they should be. Hill-Rom’s ActiveCare® DVT System provides consistent, convenient therapy with proven compliance. Portability – ActiveCare® is the first portable, sequential, IPC device with a battery back-up and weighs only 1.5 pounds. Optimal hemodynamic profile – ActiveCare® DVT system works by applying intermittent, sequential pressure to the patient’s leg in a systematic pattern, increasing the speed of venous blood flow and reducing the risk of clot formation. Battery Backup – All nursing features and patient comfort features can operate without external power, using the standard battery back-up feature. Single Controller – Operates any combination of sleeves—foot, calf- or thigh-length. Only one controller is needed even if patients require different types of sleeves. Easy Tubing Connections – Easy to apply. Caregivers spend less time disconnecting and reapplying the device.
