The Thermo contour ® Therapy surface is designed for prevention for patients up to high-risk of pressure ulcers.
The newest generation, lightweight, visco-elastic foam reacts to weight, body shape and temperature, and will adjust to distribute weight evenly again providing low pressures and enhanced patient comfort.
Strikethrough proof cover design and cover material
Strikethrough is where degeneration (Hydrolysis) of the polyurethane membrane occurs under the influence of heat and moisture, causing failure of the water barrier properties. This is witnessed as cracking open of the membrane allowing ingress of fluids through the cover into the foam. The recognised causes of strikethrough are twofold, The design of most Therapy surfaces allows both sides to be used, lending itself to the above conditions, as the product is washed, left damp and turned onto a non breathable base. Secondly as bed occupancy increases, it is well recognised that the PU material currently used is not strong enough to withstand these conditions.
The uniquely designed welded cover of the Thermo contour® Therapy surface meets the highest standards in prevention of strike through, covered by a 5 year warranty.
On top of that the Therapy surface features: waterproof, vapour permeable, bacteriostatic and fungostatic, non slip underside, easy to clean and built-in carry handles. Due to the design of the Therapy surface there is no need to turn or rotate it.
Because the cover is multi stretch it conforms to the patient’s body-shape, helping reduce sheer and friction.
