Features
Increased patient independence
To maximise patient independence, easy access to bed control functions is essential. Evolution 156 controls are integrated into both sides of the upper side-rails and ergonomically positioned to ensure continuous patient and caregiver access for bed repositioning.
Improved safety for patients and caregivers
The half-length side-rails provide a secure grip for patients during bed exit, reducing the risk of patient falls and staff injury. When used in conjunction with electric bed height adjustment the side-rails form a unique mobilisation aid reducing the risk of injury to caregivers. The side-rails tuck closely to the side of the bed, giving a zero transfer gap, facilitating patient transfer to a chair or trolley.
Increased patient comfort
A combination of auto-contour and the sliding backrest design optimises patient positioning and comfort. Auto-contour ensures that when the backrest is elevated the knee section automatically rises to maintain comfort and help prevent the patient sliding down the bed. The sliding backrest moves backwards as well as upwards when being elevated, minimising shear forces on the patient’s sacrum, avoiding compression of the patient’s abdomen and helping patient comfort and stability in the bed.
