On October 23, 1929, Bill Hillenbrand founded Hill-Rom with a goal to "bring the home into the hospital." He began by offering hospitals the fine oak furniture created by local artisans in Batesville, Ind.

Over the years, Hill-Rom developed a reputation for listening to customers and developing a long line of industry "firsts" that forever changed the way caregivers deliver care to their patients.
