Hill-Rom® Infusion Management Device (IMD)

The Hill-Rom Infusion Management Device (IMD) facilitates an ergonomic and efficient transfer of IV bags and infusion pumps during the patient transport process.

The IMD works a couple of different ways. Most efficiently, the IMD leverages the adjustable height feature of the bed to essentially pass the rack between the bed arm, cart and service head arm. In the event that “up and down” motion is not available on the bed you can use the hydraulic cart to facilitate transfer of the rack.

It can reduce patient transfer time and is more efficient. A single care provider can quickly and easily transfer IVs and pumps between the bed, service head and rack. There’s no more wasted time assembling a team for transfer or waiting on the team to arrive.

The IMD is an ergonomic solution. It helps protect the health and well-being of the care giver as there’s no bending, lifting or stretching required yield the IMD patient transport benefits.

The IMD features a simple and effective security latch that keeps the rack and its associated load under control during the transfer and transportation process.
